The holiday season is a time for social gatherings with friends, family, and most importantly, food. Don’t let this season ruin your healthy habits. Allow these tips to guide you through a wonderful and healthy holiday!
1. Be realistic: Plan to consume a little more during this time of year. However, instead of trying to lose weight, focus on maintaining your current weight. It’s hard to resist your favorite seasonal treats!
2. Survey your choices before filling your plate: Choose your favorites and include a balance of fruits and vegetables to satisfy all of your energy needs.
3. Choose your indulgences wisely: Pick items that are truly special to the season. Try to avoid foods that are available throughout the year as they may not be the best choices to indulge. Instead manage your caloric intake by choosing your favorite seasonal treats.

6. Most Importantly! Treat Yourself: It’s impossible to gain weight from that one piece of pie! If you do overeat, that’s okay, try to go light at the next meal. Also continue to incorporate bouts of physical activity as time allows.
